Registration for Winter STEM Camps is open online 24/7 beginning Sep 28, 2024


Dates and Times: We will be offering four individual Saturday Day Camps on November 30th, December 7, December 14, and December 21. Camp will be from 10 am – 3 pm. *Each Saturday will operate as an individual camp purchase.*

Pricing: Members: $80 Non-Members: $90 Purchase of camp comes with a Camper T-shirt and 1 Guest Pass (valid through December 31, 2024)

There will be no Before or After Care offered for Winter STEM Camps

Other Information: Be sure to register your child(ren) for their current grade level. Campers must be 5 years old before the start of camp in order to attend. All activities are subject to change. Registration closes at noon on the Friday before the camp begins

Cancellation Policy: If for any reason you need to cancel your registration for camp, you must do so no later than two weeks prior to the start of your camper’s session for a 50% refund.

Camp 1: November 30 | NASA Robotics – The Case of the Runaway Snowman

Get ready for a frosty adventure in “The Case of the Runaway Snowman”! This winter embark on an exciting STEM adventure crafted for fourth and fifth grade scientists! Unleash your creativity and problem-solving skills with hands-on activities that explore the wonders of robotics and technology.

Begin by guiding Spheros through intricate winter challenges and watch as they navigate snowy obstacles with precision. Then, tackle the fun of programming Ozobots to build a snowplow and clear snow-covered paths.

Get your hands on Edisons to dive deeper into coding and robotics, creating your own inventive solutions to seasonal challenges. Finally, use Makey Makey to build interactive projects that respond to touch, turning everyday objects into exciting tech tools.

Each activity is designed to enhance your understanding of coding and engineering concepts while sparking curiosity about the latest innovations in robotics and space technology. Join us for a winter of exploration, learning, and fun as we solve the mystery of the runaway snowman and discover the incredible ways robots are shaping our world and beyond!

 


Camp 2: December 7 | NASA Aviation – Take Flight with Rudolph

Prepare for an extraordinary adventure with “Take Flight with Rudolph!” This winter, join us for an exhilarating aviation camp designed especially for fourth and fifth-grade science explorers.

In this immersive experience, you’ll dive deep into the science of flight alongside Rudolph, your expert guide. Engage with our Mysteries of Flight demonstration to uncover the principles behind how aircraft soar, including an in-depth look at Bernoulli’s principle and its real-world applications.

Design, build, and test your own advanced models in a windtunnel, exploring the engineering challenges that real aircraft undergo. Put your skills to the test as you experiment with various flying techniques and delve into the the future of aviation. Discover the innovations behind some of the most remarkable aircraft and unmanned systems being developed by NASA’s top engineers and scientists.

Camp 3: December 14 | NASA Space – Does It Snow On Mars?

Prepare for an out-of-this-world adventure with “Does It Snow on Mars?” a winter STEM camp designed specifically for fourth and fifth-grade science explorers! Blast off on an interplanetary journey to the Red Planet and delve into the challenges of surviving and thriving in space.

Inspired by the groundbreaking Curiosity rover, this camp offers a hands-on exploration of space science and Martian conditions. You’ll dive into the science of weather on Earth, the Moon, and Mars by investigating how different liquids freeze.

Experience the magic of liquid nitrogen as you enjoy a cup of “hot” chocolate made with this super-chilled substance, and uncover the science behind this frosty treat. In our Space Freeze Program, you’ll witness firsthand the effects of extreme cold on various materials.

Throughout the camp, you’ll explore the wonders of space science, discover exciting space careers, and learn about NASA’s ambitious plans for future missions to the Moon and Mars through the Artemis project.

Camp 4: December 21 | NASA Engineering – Save the Snow Day!

Gear up for an exhilarating experience at our “Save the Snow Day” winter STEM camp, specially crafted for fourth and fifth-grade science explorers! Dive into the fascinating world of engineering and discover the excitement of force and motion through interactive activities.

Embark on an epic engineering adventure as you explore how simple machines can transform your ideas into reality. Design, build, and test your own innovative creations—from crafting and racing popsicle stick sleds to delving into the science of motion, friction, and mechanical advantage. Each challenge is designed to push your problem-solving skills and ignite your creativity!
