The Virginia Air & Space Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission of entertaining, educating, and inspiring explorers of all ages. Your support helps to fund our mission through exciting educational programs and exhibits. We proudly serve our community’s students and families, as well as countless Hampton Roads visitors with interesting opportunities to see the history of flight and local achievements come alive in various exhibits and programs designed for all ages. Your support ensures that our mission to educate future generations remains viable. Gifts of all amounts are greatly appreciated and we thank you for helping us continue with our endeavor to educate and inspire.
NOTE: The recently implemented CARES Act now provides donors with a universal tax deduction of up to $300 on their 2020 tax return if they take the standard deduction. This reinstates the opportunity for gifts of all sizes to qualify as tax-deductible. This above-the-line deduction does not apply to donors who itemize their deductions, however, the added tax incentive that increases the cap on charitable contributions from 60% of your AGI to 100% will benefit those who itemize as well! Check with your tax advisor to learn more!
Ways to Support
Donations made to the Annual Fund will help the Virginia Air & Space Center with general upkeep and improvements of facilities and exhibits. Gifts to the Annual Fund are used in the Center’s best interest for the items/projects for which we are most in need of at any given time.
Building Exhibits for the 21st Century
It’s no secret that technology has been changing the way we learn for many years. As a science center and NASA Visitor Center with a focus on the remarkable contributions made by local gem NASA Langley, the Virginia Air & Space Center must constantly evolve to anticipate what it takes to inspire and educate our visitors. Donations made to ‘Building Exhibits for the 21st Century’ will allow the Center to stay relevant as advances in technology, flight, and space travel are made by keeping our exhibits up-to-date as new milestones are reached. Click here to see our proposed Master Plan.
Donations made in support of STEM education are used to stimulate students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and math by funding educational outreach programs, field trips to the Center, summer camps, the development of programs, and so much more! Your support could also help assist with teaching the Virginia Standards of Learning guidelines to students across Virginia. We hope your gift helps inspire our community’s budding scientists, doctors, technologists, engineers, mathematicians, astronauts, and beyond.
