Kalpana & the Magic Planet

By Sowmian, 3rd Grade

Kalpana was a brave girl, born blind. Doctors said, “There is no medicine on Earth. There’s no hope.” Kalpana felt very sad. She wanted to see colors, trees, and twinkling stars.

One day, a kind scientist, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, came to her town. He said, “I found a magic planet called Lumina. Its light might help your eyes. I need someone brave to try it. Will you help me?”

Kalpana’s parents were scared, but she said, “I will!”

She boarded the spaceship, flying through stars and glowing planets. Suddenly, meteors rained down, but Kalpana held on tight. Finally, they landed on Lumina. A magical light touched her eyes. Slowly, she could see! Flowers waved, rivers shined, and the sky glowed in pink and blue.

Kalpana’s brave choice helped many blind people see and live happy lives.

Moral: If Earth has no hope, the stars might have the answer!
