The Arctic – Our Last Great Wilderness

Imagine a place in America that is vast, wild, and untouched, where some of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles unfold. For five years, Florian Schulz lived in the Arctic to film this land and reveal it to audiences around the globe. The film follows the Porcupine Caribou herd on the longest animal migration on Earth and captures rare moments of pregnant polar bears denning along the coastal plain.

Located in the northeastern corner of Alaska, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of the wildest places left on the planet, a symbol of wilderness few have ever seen. The Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness is the first cinematic exploration of this remote land, offering a look into a world that has remained intact since the beginning of time. The film is produced by Terra Mater Factual Studios, distributed by Cosmic Picture, and written and directed by IMAX producer Myles Connolly and photographer and cinematographer Florian Schulz.
