After years of exclusively educational IMAX offerings, we are taking a tentative step back into the IMAX feature film landscape with a screening run of Dune: Part Three in December and January! This will mark the beginning of a series of screenings we will be hosting to gauge public interest in seeing Hollywood movies at the Center.
The Virginia Air & Space Science Center is home to the largest screen in Hampton Roads, within a theater engineered specifically for IMAX. This gives you all the chance to see the film exactly as director Denis Villeneuve intended, as it was designed from the ground up for IMAX. IMAX is the world’s most immersive moviegoing experience, and our large screen theater ensures that not a single piece of the action is cut off.
The film will not stop our typical schedule of educational IMAX films during the week, though, and tickets for those will remain included within the price of a General Admission ticket. Tickets for feature length IMAX films will have to be purchased separately. The Dune: Part Three screenings will be taking place over the weekends, starting with the premiere on December 18th at 6:30 p.m..
Grab your popcorn and candy from the Zero Gravity Bistro, and get ready to experience the Center in a whole new way. We hope that you’re as excited as we are for this new direction, and cannot wait to see you all at the premiere!
Tickets are available for sale right now for all of the scheduled Dune: Part Three screenings.
